Donetsk will host the second International investment summit on Sep 17-18, 2009

On Sep 17-19, 2009, Ukraine’s largest industrial region will discuss energy efficiency at the International investment summit.

The summit, being a major regional event for Ukraine, is held annually, and there is continued interest from foreign and domestic companies and the business community committed the development of Donetsk region, as well as from central and local authorities. The Summit focuses on the issues that are highly relevant for the region. This year’s investment summit is about one of the most pressing challenges for the regional economy - about energy efficiency.

The main goal of the project is to get authorities, researchers, domestic and foreign businessmen talking to each other, so that they may find the optimum ways of building an energy efficient regional economic model, on all levels - from a single enterprise to the region as a whole.

To that end, following tasks should be done:

• demonstrating the modern energy efficient solutions for various economy sectors;
• analyzing the practical ways of financing energy efficiency projects;
• disseminating best domestic and foreign practice of implementing energy efficiency projects.

The event’s target group includes:

• the management of industrial and agricultural enterprises of Donetsk region;
• representatives of municipal authority from around the region;
• representatives of national and regional research institutes;
• foreign and domestic companies operating in the sphere of energy efficiency and alternative energy sources;
• representatives of investment companies and banks;
• international consulting companies;
• government and local officials.

The Summit’s national partner is Industrial Union of Donbass, a leading company in Ukrainian business.

The Summit’s partners are Deloitte, Ernst & Young, ALTERA FINANCE, Innex. Partner of ‘Energy efficiency in agriculture’ section is Promelektro.

The Summit is supported by Donetsk regional council, Donetsk regional administration, Donetsk city council, and Ukraine’s National energy efficiency agency.
